Rapper Snoop Dogg has publicly commented on the growing presence of LGBTQ+ characters and storylines in children’s movies, saying that it leaves him uncertain and uncomfortable as a grandparent. The musician shared his experience on a recent podcast, describing how a family trip to see the animated film ‘Lightyear’ took an unexpected tur

During the film, Snoop’s grandson questioned how a female character could have a child with another woman, referencing a scene in ‘Lightyear’ where one of the characters is shown raising a family with her partner. Snoop admitted feeling unprepared to answer such questions, saying, “It really caught me off guard. I just wanted to enjoy the movie, but suddenly I was faced with questions I didn’t know how to answer.”

The entertainer went on to express concerns about whether storylines involving same-sex couples should be introduced at an early age, noting that such depictions often prompt young viewers to ask thoughtful but challenging questions. “These are kids. Is it necessary to show this at their age? It’s tough when they ask and we don’t have the answers,” he said.

‘Lightyear,’ a spinoff of the beloved Toy Story franchise, has been at the center of wider discussions about LGBTQ+ representation in family entertainment, especially after featuring Disney’s first same-sex kiss. Snoop Dogg’s remarks have sparked additional conversations online about inclusivity and the appropriate age for introducing such diverse narratives in children’s media.

The rapper’s comments follow previous controversies and have led some to question his scheduled leadership role at upcoming entertainment events.
